Dragonbane Order

The Dragonbane Order is a fanatical group that originated in the aftermath of the Draconian War. They are fervent in their belief that the integration of dragonkin into human society was a grave mistake. According to their doctrine, the dragonkin pose an imminent threat to humanity, capable of unleashing suffering akin to that witnessed during the war.   Their deep-seated unease and apprehension towards the dragonkin runs deep, as they view them as unrelenting menaces to the safety and liberty of humanity. In their eyes, they see themselves as guardians shielding humanity from another wave of anguish and hardship.

Structure

The organization's structure is characterized by its simplicity, as it is designed to efficiently pursue a single, clear goal.   Committee
The Committee functions as the governing body of the organization, similar to a board of directors or council. Its main responsibility is to make decisions regarding the organization's actions, goals, and underlying motivations. In addition to the Committee members, the group also includes their assistants known as Acolytes, who support the committee in its functions.
  • Acolyte
  • Acolytes play a vital role in supporting the members of the Committee by assisting them with their various duties and responsibilities. In essence, they act as valuable assistants, providing valuable support and help to ensure the smooth functioning of the Committee's operations.
      Operatives
The operatives are comprised of the Order's dedicated fighters, elite guards, and battle-hardened warriors, essentially serving as the cult's loyal and formidable henchmen.
  • Enforcer
  • Enforcers serve as the security personnel within the Order, responsible for upholding the organization's rules and regulations across its many buildings and facilities. They maintain a strong presence to ensure the safety and security of these locations, as well as during important meetings and gatherings.
      Commoners
The Commoners form the largest group within the organization, and they are devoted followers and believers of the cult. Although they are not directly involved in the internal affairs of the organization, they actively disseminate the teachings and principles of the cult. Additionally, when necessary, they are ready to respond to the call for battle, essentially serving as an armed militia for the organization.
  • Crusader
  • Any ordinary person who responds to the organization's summons to join the fight is honored with the title of Crusader. Additionally, the Order may enlist a specialized group called the Scalebreakers, consisting of exceptionally skilled individuals, to eliminate dragonkin when the situation demands it.

  • Scalebreaker
  • Scalebreakers are highly trained and specialized individuals from the Commoners. They are usually tasked with the mission of eliminating dragonkin when necessary. These operatives are equipped with specially designed weapons and tools, and their training is akin to that of professional assassins.

    Public Agenda

The organization is focused on a singular mission: to shift societal perspectives on the concept of having dragonkin as companions.   Their core belief is that dragonkin are inherently wild creatures, having never been fully domesticated, and therefore pose a constant threat of potential harm or attack to humans. They often reference the events of the Draconian War and the preceding decades to bolster their argument, using the historical conflict as evidence that such an event could potentially reoccur in the future.

    History

After the Draconian War came to a close, a small faction of individuals adamantly refused to believe that the Ancient Dragonkin, with their allegiance pledged in the Draconian Concord, would faithfully carry out their obligations. Instead, they continued to view the Ancients and all dragonkin as an ongoing threat to humanity. In response to this perception, they banded together to establish an organization aimed at reshaping public opinion regarding the inclusion of dragonkin as companions within society.
