Caranae System

The Caranae System has only recently been explored, as it is located on the outer reaches of known space.
In the Caranae System, however, is a large number of precursor defence platform stations. These still function, and have destroyed many Alti Dominion exploration ships that attempt to navigate the system. This system seems to have once belonged to the Rikavi Ancients.
The defence platforms seem to be protecting the core structures located inside each of the 14 planets in the system. A sort of strange station has been detected orbiting the star itself at a short radius. This system has attracted the attention of the Hyperion Federation, but they know better than to send their ships on suicide missions against the defence platforms.
They instead, then, attempted to scan the system from just outside the system and our of range. However, little information has been found from this operation. They are currently planning on deploying various drones to the system. They also had to fight the Alti away from the system to obtain it for their own study.
It is known that several planets have life, and that some planets are more dangerous to visit than others.
