Farl-of-the-Sympfilfin

Farl-of-the-Sympfilfin

General Description

A town slowly decaying. Houses are ill repaired, although clearly occupied. Occasionally, roofs are roughly patched in the manner of elvish bowers but, beyond that, the place is dilapidated.

The People

Most of the people are elves, although some look to have some human ancestory. The humans that are present seem to travel in groups of two or more or are clearly adventurers from out of town.

GM Notes

Used to be simply called 'Farl' (and still called that by Long Stones)

Factions

Rules for the Faction Game can be found here
The Long Stones and The Pure Ones despise each other; the Long Stones feel like they've been the target of systematic oppression while the Pure Ones think the Long Stones are short-sighted and petty.   The Pure Ones believe that they're the rightful overlords of the Children of Morja, seeing them as second class citizens due to their mixed hertiage and their inability to have children.   The Long Stones tolerate the Children of Morja due to their heavy association with all things religious, seeing them as a necessary evil. Due to their mixed heritage, they're believed to have their feet in both worlds and are powerful but that power doesn't command, nor deserve, respect.   The Children of Morja were once completely subserviant to The Pure Ones but now most are questioning their worthiness to lead - perhaps in part to the grudging status given to them by the Long Stones. They don't like the Long Stones but at least that faction gives them a chance to be on an even footing in society.

    Table of Contents

    Relationships

    Birgliyti

In competition with Birgliyti to determine who can create the best sabotaurs and swimmers. The Sympfilfin try to attract humans and give them the rumors for the most dangerous things.

    Black Brothers

The Black Brothers pass them info on possible marks. The elves pay them a finders fee if the recommendations die.

    The Buried Pyre

The elves of Sympfilfin know about the secret entrance to The Buried Pyre

    Faylir Jyngi

The Sympfilfin will try to send adventure to kill Faylir Jyngi

    High Shrine of Morjana

The Sympfilfin worship Morjana but in a different aspect so they do offer reverence to the High Shrine of Morjana but are generally against the human priesthood.

    Livon's Otters

Because of their friendship with the Black Brothers, the Livon's Otters are looking to undermine their connection with the Sympfilfin, however they don't understand the relationship between the elves and the other gang and so their overtures have been rebuffed.

    Prensuchdt

The Sympfilfin will send some of their members to the Ferries & Port of Prensuchdt as a way of contacting adventures.

    Seigen's Henge

The Sympfilfin know about the ghost at Seigen's Henge but none of their warriors have been able to best him and it drives them up the wall. Any person who did would make enemies of the tribe.

Will o' the Forest & Grussvatirbaym

The Sympfilfin call the forest to the north "the lost weald" because of the Will o' the Forest and the Grussvatirbaym. They will tell any adventurers that will listen how there was an extremely rich kingdom in the forest and who's ruins have yet to be looted due to the Will o' the Forest

    Questions

    Why Here?

It used to be a human village that served as a ferry for Prensuchdt. The elves moved in and drove most of the humans out.

    What Does the Village Provide?

THe ferry landing point so a stop off for people traveling to Far Abbey.

    What Does It Lack?

The locals hunt for food, both in the forest, but mainly in the surrounding marsh.
Beyond that, it doesn't really lack anything.

    What Threatens It?

The vengeful survivors of their 'tips' and monsters from the forest.

    What Are the Norms?

Traditions, Beliefs, Religions, etc. What does the average person value? What are its Traditions? What beliefs does everyone have? What are the major and minor religions? How do the people see themselves?
